Seamonkey’s watersports is a small business run like a family. A six pack band, taking up to 6 customers at a time. They offer diving, snorkelling, kayaks, paddle boards and now PETER Diving.
Located in Islamorada Florida, off the Florida Keys, temperature is normally a low of 21°C (70°F) and a high of 27°C (80°F) year round. In the Islamorada Marina, which also includes back country and off-shore fishing charters. Customers will be pleased to know that also in the marina is one of the top restaurants in the Keys, the Square Grouper, open for lunch and dinner.
Seamonkey’s has two boats for which they use for diving, snorkelling, eco-tours, sunset cruises and now PETER Diving.
The reefs used at Seamonkey’s are approximately 1.5 to 4 miles off shore which is why all diving, snorkelling and PETER Diving must be done from a boat.
There is an abundance of sights to see from the Seamonkeys base. Most commonly used for Peter Diving are Cheeca Rocks- located one mile off Upper Matecumbe, great for those wanting to snap some beautiful underwater photos, Alligator Reef- a famous sight where the USS Alligator sank when it protected a convoy from pirates, Hens and Chickens- A shallow natural patch reef that has incredible corals and the Donut- a unique circle-shaped reef with beautiful coral formations. All these sights are all 15 to 20 feet, between 3 to 4 meters.
On your dive, you can expect to see angel fish, parrot fish, moray eels, lobster, crabs, porcupine fish, sharks, turtles, rays, lion fish, grouper and many more. Also you are sure to see sponges (barrel and tube), brain coral and many other corals.
The staff that will be assisting you on your tour are the owners Bill and Colleen, Captain Brent(also an instructor), Captain Rob & also in the Summers instructor Lisa. All crew have been involved in the dive industry for many years and love what they do.
