Diving in Florida

When it comes to diving, Florida is undoubtably one of the top destinations in the world. With the Atlantic Ocean to the east and the Gulf of Mexico to the west, Florida boats more than 1300 miles of coastline. There is an unlimited amount of sights to see underwater, whether you are in the Florida Keys, with its stunning coral gardens, at West Palm Beach with its diverse marine life or Fort Lauderdale with it mysterious shipwrecks you will never be at a loss for interesting underwater treats!

In the waters surrounding Florida there are whales, sharks, turtles and sailfish. In shallower waters you may see the midnight parrot fish, the foureye butterflyfish or an array of other tropical colourful fish. You may even be able to dive with the Manatees (which grow up to 4 metres / 12 feet) and friendly lemon sharks during the summer.

Inland, the temperature in Key West is on average the highest in the United States, which we believe makes diving the most sensible tourist activity for cooling off! Water temperatures and conditions tend to differ whether you are on the Gulf or Atlantic coast but generally in the Florida Keys, the temperature is normally at a low of 21°C (70°F) and a high of 27°C (80°F) year round.
