Spain
Spain boasts a broad array of dive options, almost entirely surrounded by water. Situated in the south of Europe, Spain has the Atlantic to the north and the Mediterranean to the south. There is an extraordinary variety of marine life in Spain’s waters, from nudibranchs to sea bass. Marine life regularly encountered includes octopus, conger and moray eels, lobster, grouper, weaverfish, moonfish, dolphins, damsels, wrasse, scorpionfish, together with a variety of faunas and corals. You can see whales, dolphins, and sometimes even sharks on your dives.
Spain is renowned for its marine reserves. From the Columbretes Islands and Cabo de Palos in the Mediterranean to Isla Graciosa and La Restinga in the Canary Islands. Thanks to Spain's pleasant climate, you can go diving all year round. Spain offers both warm water and cold water diving. The most popular area is the Costa del Sol, the center point being the town Malaga which located on the southeast coast of Spain. Costa del Sol is a 200 kilometer stretch of coastline with warm water and year-round diving conditions. Our PETER Point Scuba Tours dives in this area, check them out here! There is also diving in The Bay of Biscay generally for more experienced dives, but also there are coves within the bay that are suitable for less experienced divers. There is also incredible diving in The Canary Islands and The Balearic Islands, where PETER Diving is also available in dive centres.
